Thursday 14th July

It was another Excellent night of moth trapping with a total of 131 including 25 species and are as follows. 1 Clouded Silver, 1 Dark Spinach, 4 Peppered Moths, 20 Common Footman, 1 Grey Dagger, 3 Elephant Hawk Moth, 1 Poplar Hawk Moth, 3 Magpies, 6 Riband Wave, 1 White Ermine, 2 Small Emerald, 1  Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 5 Ruby Tiger, 7 Common Wainscot, 34 Common Rustics, 4 Silver Y, 2 The Spectacle, 5 Dark Arches, 2 Early Thorn, 15 The Flame, 5 Flame Shoulder, 4 Hart and Club, 3 Large Yellow Underwing, 1 Dunbar and 1 Light Arches.

Thursday 6th July

What a fantastic night of moth trapping in the walled garden with 124 Moths including 31 species. Best of all was a Black Arches, others noted was 2 Drinker,Grey Daggers, 1 Herald, 13 Garden Carpets, 15 Riband Wave, 2 Poplar Grey, 13 Common Footman, 2 Rosy Footman, 3 Magpies, 1 Small Emerald, 1 Mottled Beauty, 2 Peppered Moth, 4 Brown-line Bright-eye, 20 Common Rustics, 1 Dunbar, 3 Common Wainscot, 5 Dark Arches, 5 Hart and Dart, 3 Large Yellow Underwing, 2 Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 2 The Snout, 1 Lesser Yellow Underwing, 1 White Ermine, 1 Brimstone, 2 Tree-lichen Beauty, 2 Striped Wainscot, 4 The Flame, 1 Rosy Minor, 2 Southern Wainscot and 7 Diamond back Moths. 

Wednesday 5th July

A total of 79 were recorded this morning with 18 species being present, an excellent 3 Black Arches a fantastic moth to say the least, also 2 Poplar Hawk Moths, 2 Mottled Beauty, 1 Buff Ermine, 1 Antler Moth, 4 Yellow Tail, 1 Garden Carpet, 1 Dun Bar, 1 Brown Tail, 1 Brimstone, 7 The Flame, 12 Common Rustics, 1 Light Arches, 5 Flame Shoulder, 1 The Snout, 1 Magpie, 1 Smoky Wainscot, 5 Riband Wave, 1 Scarce Footman, 2 Ruby Tiger, 11 Dark Arches, 2 Large Yellow Underwing, 5 Common Footman, 2 Striped Wainscot, 1 Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, 1 Angle shade and 4 Silver Y.  


Thursday 30th June

A very poor night for moth trapping with just 26 caught including just 9 different species. Best of all was a Drinker moth with the others being 3 Buff Ermines, 4 Hart and Dart, 3 Garden Carpets, 1 Common Wainscot, 5 Common Footman, 3 Small Magpies, 1 Large Yellow Underwing and 5 Common Rustics.


Thursday 22nd June

hA good overnight of trapping with 71 Moths including 13 different species seen, these included 12 Large Yellow Underwings, 3 Peppered Moth, 7 Dark Arches, 2 Elephant Hawk Moth, 1 Poplar Hawk Moth, 6 Common Footmans, 7 Hart and Dart, 3 Red Underwings, 6 Broad bordered Yellow Underwings, 4 Common Wainscots 6 Silver Y, 6 Common Rustics and 8 Yellow Shells.
