Butterflies 2019

Friday 26th April

Small Copper (Bottom Lake)

There was a nice selection of butterflies on site today including the first Small Copper of the year also, 8 Orange Tips, 2 Peacocks, 1 Brimstone, 2 Red Admirals, 2 Large Whites, 3 Small Whites and 1 Comma.

Wednesday 24th April

Sightings today included 1 Orange Tip, 4 Small Whites, 2 Large Whites and 2 Peacocks.

Thursday 18th April

A good total of 6 Orange Tips were seen today, also 5 Peacocks, 3 Red Admirals, 3 Large Whites, 2 Small Whites and 3 Comma.

Tuesday 16th April

The first Orange Tip was seen today, also 3 Peacocks, 2 Red Admirals and a Comma.

Monday 15th April

A Large White and 2 Peacocks were seen today.

Wednesday 10th April

On site today was 2 Red Admirals, 2 Comma and 1 Peacock.

Friday 5th April

Red Admiral (Top Lake)

There was a nice selection of butterflies today with 3 Red Admirals, 3 Comma, 3 Peacock and 2 Small Tortoiseshells.

Friday 29th March

Comma (Bottom Lake)

It was a good day for butterflies with a total of 2 Brimstones, 2 Commas, 1 Small Tortoiseshell and 7 Peacocks.

Tuesday 26th March

Peacock Butterfly (Pasture Field)

2 Peacock butterflies were noted today.

Friday 8th March

A Comma was noted at the top lake.

Tuesday 5th March

2 Peacock Butterflies were seen at the bottom lake.

Tuesday 26th February

Peacock Butterfly (Bottom Lake)

With this spring-like weather continuing it has certainly produced some early sightings of butterflies, today it produced another Peacock and our second Comma of the year.

Monday 25th February

A Peacock was by the main house this morning.

Friday 15th February

The first Peacock butterflies were seen today with 2 present at the bottom lake.

Thursday 14th February

The first Butterfly was recorded today with an early Comma seen at the bottom lake.
